Car does not detect Driver 1 or 2

Car does not detect Driver 1 or 2
I've noticed that my preprogrammed settings for driver 1 and 2 have not been working I.e: unlock car in park/lock car in reverse. I tried reprogramming it and the computer says something like "cannot access memory feature, device not detected". Am I doing something wrong or maybe my medication for my allergies is getting to my head. 
Please help.

Press the lock and unlock buttons at the same time. The led will flash once to show the fob is linked to the car, and twice to show it isn't.
You need the one blink indicator, to show it is linked, and then everything else should work.
