Can't find my house

My nav it can't find my house. Even when I pick it to locate where I am at currently it gives me a neighbors house. Maybe I need to read the manual some more.

mine and my wifes car both do the same thing...when i select go home, i can get home, but the address is different....either your neighborhood is too new, or your just flat out not on the map...eitherway, it knows were you are, just no map....

is your house itself on the map?
Do you have the latest version of the nav disc?
The operation manual will show you how to adjust your actual position on the unit.
These are basic GPS devices and within 45 feet is its accuracy level

Thats your sub-conscious mind running the autonomic nervous system.
When you give yourself the "Home James" command- the muscles motor memory (and your guardian angel in some opinions) work to operate the vehicle controls.
You are your own GPS when told to be.
You dont have to think to breathe right?- or walking is not a mental command pick up left foot move forward x distance and plant- check stabilty and transfer weight to operate right leg lift and forward,,,, the body is amazing in how it works.
The driving part of this is that you dont think about when and how to accellerate and brake- you have it programmed into your brain memory and muscle memory.

Ok- Show of hands- how many here--- have driven home from a party or even after long 12 hour work shift (my wife, often) and have no recollection of how they got home?,
and the car is parked good enough, maybe perfect the way you do every day,- no accidents- no memory of the event- just---I was there and now I am here!
It does ONLY work on places you have been before to know the route

Portable GPS will change your life- new places new routes and shortcuts without worry, backroad twisties displayed in advance...its a whole new world out there to explore!!!
my sanity of not asking the wife for incorrect directions is worth a gps

The GPS has built-in assumptions about distances between address numbers, so if you have an odd-sized block or building or gaps between addresses, your car won't necessarily be in front of the exact address, but it'll be close.

We assume you can find your way home from the neighbor's house.

OTOH, the TL's Nav is a lot better than the Mercedes navigation system on the 2006 E350, which has a margin of error of either 200 ft. or 400 ft.
