Burning oil replacement engine options/where to look for a fix

Hi guys so I’m in a bit of a situation with my 07 type s, recently I just put on the tsudo PCDs and an OBX catback exhaust the car is a 5 speed auto, everything was fine with the car after the exhaust parts were put on but I knew the car needed an oil change my wife was out with the car when the oil light came on which I know can cause a lot of damage in just a few seconds she was already pulling into the Walmart parking lot when it turned on so I just got her to run in and put the oil in the car.

Some of it did spill so I thought for the first day or 2 I was just smelling the oil burning off as I was mainly smelling it on the highway getting up to speed after the car was warmed up and not relay smelling it when it was idling or just doing in town driving, Then the other night I took this video just to see what my exhaust sounded like in the washing bay that’s when I noticed the blue smoke coming out at the end of the rev (3-4K) so now I’m just wondering if I’m staring to look into an engine replacement and what engines are just a simple drop in without losing much power or torque, it's really hard to come by a type s engine around here so I would most likely need 1 shipped but there are lots of scrapped odessys, ridgelines and other Hondas for that matter.

Or am I overthinking it and is there some parts I could look to see if they are damaged and get replacements for an easy fix I know these engines are rarely know for burning oil but this is the outcome of my own fuck up for going to long without the oil change we just had a baby so I was way to busy to think about it until it was to late, thanks for any info it’s appreciated

How much oil are you burning through? Did you check the PCV to see if it's stuck? Any odd noises?

checking my pcv valve and throttle body tomorrow praying that it’s that but no, no odd noises at all, if it’s not it’s lookin like a new engine seems easier to drop a new one in than do a rebuild kit

and not a whole lot it’s pretty on par I’ve gone 3000km now and usually do an oil change every 5k and I’m at a little over a 1/3 left in the safe zone on the dipstick which is makin me think it’s blowing by my piston rings when it’s under a load

check if the engine is burning more than 1 quart/liter per 500 miles or 1000 Km, more than that and you probably want to look at a new engine....

If you want a Type-S engine & keep the purchase in-country, then the below gives you an idea of what's available under 250KM.
Three of which are JDM Japanese imports.

According to this guy's #9 post below, on the thread indicated, nothing; therefore, it is prudent to perform your due diligence research before procuring.

According to this guy's #4 post, on the thread below, you can also consider the 05-08 RL 3.5 or 07-09 MDX J37A1 as well.

Good Luck.

Engine swap

I’m in need of a new j35a8 for my 07 tl type s, very hard engine to come by where I’m from but I just saw this 05 rl pop up it’s 4+ hours away from me but I was just wondering if the rl shares the exact same engine as a 3G type s and if it’s a direct swap, thanks

If it is running good and all you have is some blue smoke when you get on it.. And if No CEL illuminated... I would just drive it the way it is.. It sounds like it runs good..
I wonder what would happen if you added Engine Oil Flush at the next oil change? Like csmeance said... depends on if it is using a lot of oil. If not, dont worry about it.. But that is just my opinion on what I would do if it as my car. Changing the engine for a little blue smokle is not worth it to me. I would rather trade it.
