Bumping and Vibration when burning rubber ?!?

I noticed something weird, when starting off, on wet pavement, I started in first normally without wheel spin then floored it just for the heck of it and obviously my front wheels started to spin..(TC was off) when my tach got up to 5000 and my speedo up to about 45 ( just from the wheelspin I was only going about 15mph) I felt bumping and Alot of vibration at the front wheels...felt like the front tires were jumping up and down on the pavement... the road was even with no bumps, just wet.. Is that normal or should I be worried?? I don't burn rubber all that much for no reason so I havent really noticed it before on dry or wet pavement....

Nevermind, I take that back.. The wheel hop is probably due to me installing new performance summer tires about a week ago.. I've never felt it on my other set of worn out tires.. Still strange that there is no wheel hop on dry pavement, and only on wet...

Yup, and not too good for the suspension and engine mounts.

The bump could be the tires getting grip and then losing it bit by bit.

Yep just wheel hop... That happens with FWD. Nothing to worry about just try not to do it much because it's hard on your car.

standard run of the mill, wheel hop.. Happens when you have fairly sticky tires and a fairly stiffly sprung suspension. Since our cars are FWD, the front would have fairly high spring/shock rates.

This is why drag cars RWD/FWD have very low spring/shock rates on the drive wheels to reduce wheel hop. Normal, nothing you should be worried about

It's more the opposite.

Drag cars have softer suspensions for weight transfer so they don't spin at all. At the track, I come off the line wide open with 20psi boost that quickly flashes to 29psi. No spin.

In a street car that's going to spin, stiffer is usually better. However, it has much more to do with the shocks and bushings than the spring rate.

With a nice set of shocks, good engine and trans mounts, and a way to firm up/eliminate the compliance bushings I would bet wheel hop would be non-existant in the TL.

Wheel hop is very bad for any car.
