Bump in road causes downshift in 5AT

Not sure if this is a problem. Yesterday I was accelerating slowly from a stop sign, but there was a huge bump on the road (almost like a minor speed bump). When I drove over it, my car downshifted from I believe 2nd to 1st. Is the transmission suppose to behave that way? I have a 06 5AT w/ 11,xxx miles. This is the first time this happened and it was on a slight incline.

I think you felt the traction control reduce the throttle.

I noticed this once too.. from a dip in the road. Turns out it was because the bump made my foot push down harder on the accelerator. Going over the same dip with my foot off the accelerator didn't result in any downshifting.
