Broken Pre Cat Delete

My rear PCD broke for the 2nd time. Luckily Ritchie agreed to replace it for me again but does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? He also said maybe I should consider upgrading the engine mounts

Ask Richie to weld BOTH the inside and out.

I'll mention that to him. Is that something he just started doing recently?

What performance mods do you have? I don't want to keep calling Ritchie everytime this thing breaks. Pretty annoying.

Your V3 PCDs broke twice, not V2s?

Any pics?

when it happened to me.

Do understand, the user UA6 has a super charger.
bad motor mounts along with the extra torque of the super charger can cause the welds on the PCD's to break.
Richie backs up his products with excellent customer service.
I had no down time, as richie sent a new one right away!

Wow, that doesn't look like very much weld penetration between that top flange casting and the center pipe. Maybe Richie could start notching the center pipe and chamfering the flange castings to get better welds.

None of the OEM pieces break at the welds, even with worn motor mounts. Shouldn't the flex sections in the J-pipe prevent excessive load on the PCDs?

yeah, the welds didnt go all the way through.
you sound like you know more about welding than I do.

when I received the new PCD, it was welded exactly the same.
I can foresee mine breaking again.

It must be the extreme heat cycling that the rear pcd goes through, since neither of you have experienced a failure of the front pcd.

I was considering purchasing these in the near future. The rear pcd is going to be a pain to replace if it fails, even if RV6's warranty/replacement policy is top-notch.
