Broken endlink mount/reinforcing

I have an 07 type s and just noticed my sway bar/endlink mount to my left rear when has broken. I do have a progress RSB, and it looks like this has happened to people before. I know they are $15 new but I have a friend that welds for a living and was wondering if I get him to weld it up, AND reinforce the bracket or even have him make a stronger one, what would be the week point then? Would my subframe be the week point?

The progress RSB's have ripped off the mounts for the bushings that hold it up (the 2 in the center) and those need to be rewelded to the sub-frame if they break. It'd probably best just to buy a new endlink and call it a day.

I have moog endlinks, the bracket that attaches to the wheel is what broke.

Can the subframe mounts rip if the brackets on the wheels stay intact?

I imagine the subframe mounts would rip because the weakest part holding the sway bar is going to break when it twists beyond what it was designed for. The AT TL's came with 17mm and the 6MT with a 20mm bar. The comptech was designed with this in mind hence the 22mm comptech bar. Progress went up to 24 and that's where the ripped bushing mounts started popping up.

Check out the price on the OEM endlinks, I honestly think they might be better than the MOOG ones. I've had them on my TL for 190K and they still seem great!

I would rather replace endlinks than rip out mounts and need welding. I had a Maxima that had that problem when I upgraded the suspension- first the endlinks, then the mounts. I have the Comptech rear bar and it and the endlinks have been solid for the 8 years that I have had the bar installed.

I am going to replace the mount with a new OEM mount. Hopefully it wont rip out like it did and if it happens again ill weld up the mount and put the stock sway bar on. Luckily I dont have any issues with my subframe so maybe it was just a weak bracket.
