Brand new TL - hood alignment issue

Brand new TL - hood alignment issue
I just bought a brand new '06 6MT TL with Nav last week and I noticed from the time I picked it up that the hood and bumper aren't aligned correctly. The gap between the hood and the fender on the driver's side is definitely tighter than on the passenger side. And the gap isn't even either, it's tighter towards the front. Not only this, but the gap between the hood and the bumper is larger on the passenger side.
This makes no sense to me how an Acura came out of the factory with a crooked hood and bumper. I took it to a body shop where I used to work and they said there is no evidence of any paint work or body/frame damage and all the bolts on the hood haven't been touched. I'm bringing it back next week (to the body shop, I dont trust the dealer to do it) so they can hopefully make adjustments.
I've always known Acuras to have tight panel gaps so I'm pretty disappointed with this.
Has anyone else had this problem?

I had the same problem, until I realized that I had an extra rubber bumper, the round black rubber nubs next to the latch of the hood. I took off the extra bumper and it was fixed. It was very easy to look over. Check it out.

I am about to buy an 07 TL today. I have it on a 24 hour testdrive and I noticed that my hood was crooked. The dealership said that they would fix it. When I took it to the body shop, the mechanic said that it was not normal for Acuras to be that way and told me to get another one if I could.
Were you able to get yours fixed?

I have the same problem. The driver's side has about about an 1/8" crack between the hood and quarter panel and the passenger side is more like a FAT 1/4". But it is an even gap from top to bottom. Looks like the hood needs to be nudged to the passenger side about 1/16 to even things up.

Long story short though, I was very dissatisfied with the quality issues with the TL. I ended up trading it in for a G35 because of all the rattles, MT transmission problems, and a string of bad luck.
I don't think it's necessary for you to get a different TL as long as the dealership or body shop adjusts all the gaps. This is just poor quality control, and I hope Acura fixes this in the future. Definitely mention it in the survey you get from Acura.
