Brakes, rotors
2007 acura tl,35000 miles.
I have noticed that my steering wheel shakes when i brake at higher speed. i was told that my rotors are wrapped.
Anyone has any suggestions as whether i should stay stock with rotors and pads, or go aftermarket.
any good sites to buy parts?
thanks

With only 35K miles, you can probably have your current rotors resurfaced. The O'Reilly Auto Parts in my town does it for cheap and they do a good job.
I think that the stock rotors and pads are good enough for me in the TL, but many have bought some kits on ebay or other places with slotted rotors and ceramic pads with the stock hardware. Some have even stepped up to brembo brake setups for even better performance. It is all up to you.

excelerateperformance.com, one of our sponsors is where i got my pads and front rotors from. Just ordered last week but have heard nothing but good about Rotora items. I'm at just over 52k with original rotors.
Once rotors have been 'resurfaced' I would say replace them the next problem that occurs. Safe is better then sorry.

If the pads are in "new" condition you don't need to replace them if you want to go the cheap route and save money, but for the price of replacement pads and as you're having the caliper off, better to get pads and rotors.
Don't forget to properly torque the lug nuts when installing the wheels.

I would not resurface them a second time either. Get some new ones, and get some good ones that are drilled since there is something about your situation that creates heat on rotors.
Warped rotors were covered under the used program car warranty with my Ford Truck. Call Acura and see what they say - you have plenty of time left in your CPO warranty. I know that brakes are not usually covered, but rotors should last more than 13K without warping unless you are riding the brakes all of the time while driving on the sun. I doesn't hurt to call and make a case.

I would definitely recommend new rotors. Never cut cause your removing metal and making the rotor weaker and more prone to warping again. I just installed POWER SLOT rotors and HAWK HPS pads and could not be happier. Excellent bite and performance with no noise. Got them from AUTOANYTHING for less than the stock setup.

custom brackets + 350Z rotors + acural RL calipers + 04+ TL rims on my 02 CL-S = never have warped rotors again and prolly will shave some serious ft off my the CL-S 137ft 60-0 braking distance once i get them on.

I have an '04 6-speed MT with stock Brembos. They always worked fine for me. Remember, no front drive car is a true racing car, so unless you race or you put your car under extraordinary performance demands, STAY STOCK. (PS: after 65K miles I just had my front rotors and pads...and I ordered and had installed BREMBO and NOT some after market substitute. My Brembos have always performed for me...I don't race, but at times I do drive a little enthusiastically. In NYC and upstate NY, you gotta be careful because they've got Lidar everywhere. Haven't gotten pinched, but had a few close calls! Again, STAY STOCK!

The same thing happened to my 2005 TL Auto w/Nav around 30k. My dealer replaced the rotors first time on goodwill.
I have OEM rotors on the front brakes, since those do most of the braking force. Rear brakes are aftermarket. Works fine.

I'm in the same boat. I have a 04 6mt. I'm going to resurface them and replace with nice ceramic pads. The first set went swimmingly for 55k, so I figure if I have to replace them in another 35k because the rotors warp, I won't be too upset.
