brake rotors extremely hot after pad change

i changed my brembos this morning and now it seems like the driver side caliper is sticking and causing the rotor to become very hot even on short rides has anyone else had this problem

Make sure the pads are installed correctly. What did you push the pistons back into the caliper with? You could have damaged them in the process.

we used a piece of scrap metal and a C clamp the metal was flat no abrasions

Had the same problem with my rear right caliper (out of nowhere, didn't change anything), it was stuck, made the entire wheel hot, so Acura replaced it. Costed $725 in total.

^^^holy $hit,good thing it didnt get that bad we had a little trouble getting the pads to slide in so we took it all apart and redid it but removed the shims this time and it worked

Glad you fixed it!

I feel like my Acura dealer ripped me off.

Instead of trying to fix the caliper, they told me to replace it =(

Like 300 for parts, 350 for labour, then add the tax = $725.

Although an easy task, but time consuming, not many shops will rebuild the caliper as a replacement is much easier and quicker. Just an FYI, the caliper rebuilding set is only $17 list $12 net, but once again the labor mounts up in a hurry when they charge $100+ per hour. Now the savings are unbelievable if you can do the job yourself.
