Brake light switch

When replacing the brake light switch is it necessary to unplug the battery to install it or adjust it? Does this matter? Anyone with answers would help, Thanks

Techincally, whenever you work on anything electrical, you should disconnect the battery, but this isnt a big peice so just replacing it shouldnt be too big of issue.

Yeah, I figured that but was just making sure cuz this is my third replacement on my 2oo5 TL. Figured it was just a cheap brake switch which only lasted a year. Is this going to be an ongoing isssue with the TL, not that its a big deal just sucks when things break down? Thanks for the info though, much appreciated

i have to replace mine, but in my case i have to buy two to replace it once, my puppy found the switch on the floor of my garage and decided it was a chew toy. FML. I hope its not a part that needs to be replaced as much as you have been doing it.
