Brake fluid in steering reservoir
One of biggest we might have made trying to fix car. I and friend were changing brake and rotors, and wanted to add some brake fluid after we replaced parts. Mistakenly added brake fluid to steering wheel reservoir. I believe he added about half a bottle (6 oz or so) in there.
I have driven home since then which is about 30 miles.
What are my options???
I have 2008 TL type-S
Thank you all!!!

How did that happen? They aren't even close to each other...
Among other issues, brake fluid is not a lubricant. You might be OK if you drain and flush the system ASAP or it's possible the pump and/or seal/s may already be damaged, dunno. There are a few threads on Azine on how to flush the PS system with a few differences of opinion on how to do it. I wouldn't run the car until you get it flushed. Good luck.

you are totally right.. THey are not even close. But, he was in rush and I was inside the car and it happened. At this time, I cannot drain change the fluid. I will have to go to dealer first thing tomorrow morning and that would be about another 15 miles driving....
But, thank you for your response..

Just so you know, there are after-market PS fluids that meet Acura specs. You don't need to go to the dealer for PS fluid if you don't want to. Any auto parts store or Wally World will carry them.

:what:
You will be fine temporarily. An old mechanics trick to stop power steering oring and gasket leaks is to put a cap full or two of brake fluid in the PS system. It causes the gaskets to swell...stopping the leak. You do need to get it flushed as soon as you possibly can before the orings soften too much. Any shop with a competent mechanic can do this.
