Bought new keys; engine won't start.
Hey,
I ordered a key and keyfob from my local Acura dealer which my friend picked up for me.
He picks it up and tells me they need the VIN number so they can cut the key; I tell him my VIN number.
Just went to his house to pick it up, and make sure everything works.
The keyfob doesn't work, so I still have to program it, I understand that.
When I tried to open the door with the key, it was hard to open (my other key all you do is glide it to the right effortlessly; while this key I have to use some force), but it did open.
Then I try to start the engine, but it won't start.
The starter is spinning which is nice, but the engine just won't "engage/start".
I was really hoping my starter didn't crap out on me, I just replaced it a few weeks ago.
Put my other key in, engine starts on first try, as normal.
Did they not cut the key properly?
Or do I somehow have to "program" to key, along with the keyfob.
I just spent $150 on them, so I would like to know what to do.
Take it to the dealer?
Thanks.

Just programmed the keyfobs successfully, and found out that I have to go to the dealer to get my key's immobilizer programmed.
Guess I should start calling dealers to find the best price.
