Blower motor resistor location?

Hey guys, my A/C-Heat stopped blowing regardless of setting. Did some searching going to try out bypassing the resistor. I come from subarus and haven't tinkered with my 2008 TL type S. Could someone point me in the direction of the resistor? I believe it's under/behind the glove box somewhere. Do I need to remove this?

Thanks for the help,

Kacy

Just replace it. It's easy and cheap. It's on the passenger side firewall just to the right of the radio stack and right above the carpet line, IIRC.

I was going to jumper it over first to see if that's the issue. Thank you for the information.

So I got halfway through my commute home from work yesterday afternoon and the blower started working again. Got home started the car back up an hour or so after I got home (engine still relatively warm) and the a/c fan was still working. Crank her up this morning and the blower doesn't work for the entirety of my morning commute (23 miles, about 40 mintues)

Any input on this?

^I agree. Its going to be easier to just replace it. Sounds like it is bad from what your describing or at least partially bad (continuity issues). Mine went out on my previous Accord last summer, bad timing summer in phoenix to not have any air. 1st I was told it was the fan motor blower, which costs more then after changing it out I found out it was actually the resistor.

Just replace it. Mine was flakey for a good month or two before it finally gave out completely. Of course it gave out in rush hour traffic in the rain so my window kept fogging up and i had to pull over.

Easy to replace. I think under $50 on Internet, but closer to $70 at the local dealers.

Just to clarify, the transistor in question here isn't the same thing as the blower resistor? I've been trying to find it online but not really having any luck, all my search results come back for the blower motor resistor. If anybody could help me out with a part number I'd really appreciate it. My TL is an 04 5AT with Navi if that matters, but the symptoms are the same as described by the OP.

Yes it is the "same'ish" thing. In older cars that only had 3-4 speeds, a resistor pack was used. Cars that have more speeds are usually using a transistor that accomplishes the same thing.
