Battery warranty question

Our 06 TL's battery seems to have gone beyond it's limits and thus no longer provides enough juice to start her up. This past weekend was the nail in the coffin, we didn't drive her for a couple days and come Monday for work, no go, no dough! Up til this weekend we noticed the battery struggling with starting the engine. Does anyone know the length of warranty for batteries? I would believe our situation would merit at least a prorate of some sort, right? thanks ppl.

yep- may still be 100 percent coverage on an 06
take it to the dealer
3-4 years life of a battery is normal- but 2 years- the gen 3 cars must have a heat issue in the engine area to keep using batteries like they are

I am on my 3rd in my 04. What I didnt like is they told me that until the factory warantee runs out the replacement batteries just use up that coverage. my car will be out of warantee in july of 08 so the new battery I just got will be worthless if it goes bad. the warrantee book doesnt read like other replacement parts but that is what I was told. The 2nd battery only lasted a year. dealer took good car of me though

Hey thanks for the input folks, and yes I managed to get our TL in today and presto, they replaced the battery. I was worried the dealer would attempt to pull some prorate B.S. but to our amazement all went swift and worry free. Actually a contracted service company does the work on our TL since we are left to wither out here on the island, Acura-less. Nonetheless they must get approval through Pflueger Acura on Honolulu prior to rendering any warranty service or claim. On another note, our battery was actually Honda Genuine so I don't know if that's either good or bad knowing the track record of their batteries.

Acura Battery Replacement

I had the same problem with my '06, and the dealer replaced it free while I waited.

Mine died a couple weeks ago and was replaced under warranty.

I read somewhere that this was pretty common d/t high temps in our engine bays frying the battery prematurely.

hey I saw that you're also from san diego...unless you're in some other part of socal and like the Chargers. Go bolts!

Did you go to kearny mesa Acura? My battery died too just this past weekend and I had to replace it. I bought an Optima. The old battery had all this dried up battery acid crap on it. I had to clean it a ton with some baking soda and water.

The warranty is 2 years for full replacement.

I had mine replaced by the dealer with no charge even though it has passed 2 years (2 years and 3 months to be exact).
