Battery seems to not charge

Ok, I know this is probably the 100th battery thread.

2006, ACURA TL, Still under Manufacturer Warranty 4yr 50k mile
My battery seemed to be fine and not even struggling until suddenly it is unable to start the car. The car was parked for 3 days after which I turned it on, drove 30 minutes, turn off and turned back on after 1 hour, turned off and it didnt turn back on.

Called TLC and they jumped it, let it run for 1 hour, drove home and turned off. Tried to turn on and it didn't start. Did the same thing the next day, let it run for an hour and didnt turn back on.

The battery is ACURA brand and states 100 month limited warranty.

Does the battery warranty or the vehicle warranty cover the battery assuming its the battery which is defective?

Put a voltage tester on it around 5 minutes after shutoff. Then do this again say, three hourse later. Note the voltage both times. Any drop should be very minor. You should be reading between 12.4 and 12.8 volts.

You description sounds like a failing cell.

You can see if Acura will honor the 100 month warranty on the battery. Or get an aftermarket one.

similar problem to me, the HFT module was defective and constantly draining the battery. Acura replaced both the module and the battery, and the driver's leather seating surface...not related to the battery

Ok, here is the update: Wend to the dealership, checked the alternator and said its fine. Replaced the battery for free under 50k/4yr warranty. The new battery is covered for 12months/12k miles like anything else ACURA does on your car.

The 100 Month is prorated, for instance 1st year its covered 100%, the second year probably 80% of labor+80% material, 3rd year less. etc.

I shouldnt be my HFT because it BEEPS when I push the call button. It also functions fine (by fine I mean the usual problems I have learned to live with like you call and dont hear anything, you receive a call and you cant hear anything, etc)

not saying that's "it" but my HFT works fine with none of the problems you mention, but apparently it over actively drains the battery. Good luck.
