Battery Drain Problem: 2004 (No Navi)
I had a username before but having a problem logging in. Least of my worries right now.
Car: 2004 Acura TL (No Navi).
Right now my car has a tape stuck in the cassette deck and the cruise control button is not working.
Before (about 1-2 months ago) over the weekend I don't drive very often, then on Sunday evening I try to start up my car, the battery is completely dead. Took it to Advanced Auto Parts, they checked the battery, said it was good and charged it. Checked alternator/starter (said that was good too).
Two weeks later (over the weekend), same exact thing. Went to Advanced Auto parts, they replaced the battery. Went to Autozone and checked the alternator/starter and they said it was good too.
Now today (after the weekend and after the brand new battery) the battery is completely dead.
I have searched and I see that people are saying the HFL is the blame for this.
Since I have no Navi and I have a 2004, I just have a bluetooth to connect my phone (which I do not use). Is this the same thing and could be the blame?
Thank you for your help in advanced.

True but before I post a thread, I do a lot of searching.
Seems like something is slowly draining out the battery. Which is very similar to the other HFL threads.
I just wanted to confirm that the Bluetooth could the same culprit as the HFL.

Last night I disconnected the HFL
This link helped a lot!

I charged my battery for 10 minutes and my car started right up and left it on for 5 minutes. I turned it off and on twice after that (prob shouldn't have done that).
This morning my battery was dead.
-Charged for 15 minutes, drove to work.
Unjammed my tape deck and my mechanic rechecked my alternator.
Right now I have my fingers crossed.

Just keep in mind that you aren't doing your alternator any favors by making it charge a dead battery.
If it dies again, charge it and pull the accessory fuses and monitor the draw on the battery until you track it down.
Do you have anything aftermarket installed?

I am going to do a full charge once I get home. Testing while I am at work to see if anything is draining on the battery even though I think I killed all the culprits.
Appreciate the heads up though.

I had a similar problem in a truck, and kept pulling fuses and watching the multimeter. It took a few hours but I found a grounded fan switch that was pulling just enough to kill the battery if it sat for a few days.
Good luck on the search.

Give you guys an update.
Car/battery has been fine. No problem since removing the HFL or jammed cassette (don't know which one caused the problem).
The only weird thing was that ever since I have removed the cassette tape, the CD player now does not work. Oh well.

sorry to bump an old thread, but, the search feature found this and it best describes my problem.
I had dead battery issues.... battery replaced last week and it died again... so, i sat in car and just listened (the key was not in) .... i heard a clicking sound... it sounded like the cassette area (cassette to phone adapter was in there)... I tried to eject...it would not.... so, i jumped car and then tried...still, would not eject... took screwdriver and moved tape left/right/up/down/etc while pushing eject and it finally came out..... clicking stopped.
I have a feeling that is the problem....

After disconnecting the hfl and replacing the interior fuse box my damn tl is still discharging.
I have a feeling its because my door panel is removed causing the car to think the door is open, so as soon as I get the replacement window regulator I'm going to put everything back together and hope for the best.
I don't think I have a tape stuck im the radio, lol, I as well also have the base non navigation model.

TL '04 stuck cassette, battery died
Just wanted to say I had this exact problem and TL service guys had the car for a couple of days and could only identify that the stereo system was the problem and referred me to another company to fix/replace it.
That's when I googled and found this thread. Told the service manager to do the screwdriver trick and that fixed it. I haven't tried putting the cassette back in to see if it was a random thing, but plan to try that next weekend.
Thanks for the information!
