looks like residue? or possibly the silver paint on the ring came off. Did u reopen them to install the Halos? if so, maybe some glue got on it and melted off the paint?

Ya I dunno might be residue but it wasn't there till I put them back in the oven to seal them back up maybe its the epoxy from gluing the halos on..really don't wanna have to pull them back apart,But it looks pretty damn bad

Looks like your fingerprint at 9 o'clock (by the indent) in the 2nd pic.

If so, then what ever it is, it's probably something you introduced during the process.

yea, you need to make sure you wipe everything down before seal the headlight back up. i make it a habit to wipe everything with a microfiber towel and use an air compressor to blow any residue and dust. what sucks about headlight work is that after you're finished and you find something like this go wrong and you have to open it back up again.

about your problem, theres nothing that even JnC can do now if the paint came off, all you can do is open the headlight again, sand off whereever that lost paint, and re-paint it. since its a small part, simple spray paint would suffice, just find a color to both headlights match.

No kidding.

We tried to be really careful, but I still left some dust and the inside lens isn't perfectly clean. Should've done an alcohol wipe or something. Some compressed/canned air would've been good too.

the dust really shows when the HIDs are turned on and it makes it look dirty, so definitely clean it out! a lot of people seem to not realize this when they first work on headlights

If can just open it and repaint. To me when I reseal it, I only heat up the black part then reassemble quickly. I think it's better because you won't ruin any paint.

Reopened them and cleaned it all off with rubbing alcohol

Now my next question is DO I just tap into the red wires for the halos on the parking lights here is a pic of the passenger and then the driver side

Damn reading the first post almost made me decide to leave my headlights stock.

Then I saw the fingerprints... lol

Nice job cleaning it up; that was really fast.

Was it easy to replace the diffuser?

I'm gonna be in the process of removing my amber diffuser and putting in my Type-S diffusers.

Don't want to break anything in the process lol

Ya I broke a couple little plastic pieces that I had to epoxy back, If you get any finger prints on any of the inside pieces make sure you use rubbing alcohol to wipe it off before you put them back together,Learn from my mistake lol. And also just make sure you really take your time and be careful because all those pieces are fragile. And do a little searching on here I found a couple threads that really helped with tips
