Back End noise
Ok, so my problem is when it gets cold outside, there is a "click" back in the rear shelf area. It was there last winter, gone this summer, back for this winter!
This is not a rattle, it sounds more like something metal (or plastic) is gently tapping the rear glass. Or it might even sound like something being pulled apart out of tension. Very hard to describe, but it definatly has glass sound to it. And is loud enough to hear over music. It seems to happen more when in a turn (frame twisting).
This does not happen all the time, it'll come and go throughout the same drive. But it only comes when its cold outside.
I have the rear shelf out right now, and the noise is still there. Just as loud as when the shelf is installed, so I believe it is not something on the deck.
I think it is coming from above the headliner on the passenger side. I have dropped the headliner but can not see anything up there that looks to be the issue.
Any ideas? The noise is really loud, and would like to get rid of it this winter, so it doesnt come back next winter!

My '07 TL-S has exactly the same noise you describe. It's very annoying! The dealer had the car for four days, did everything described in the rear deck TSB and some other things. Well, the problem is still there. They basically told me they give up on it. It does seem to be somewhat more prevalent when it is colder out. Not sure what I'm going to do next. Maybe try another dealer and see if they can find it. I would love to get it fixed.
