Automatic trans failure/electrical problems 2006 TL

I just bought my 2006 Acura TL with the 5speed auto transmission with 100k on the clock. Today on my way home from school the transmission decided to not shift. It revs sky high then slams into gear. This happens about five times then the check engine light, VSA light and exclamation light all came on together. The green light next to drive just blinks and it limps me home. Once home the car would not start and the ignition made a grinding type of noise. Not the starter, the ignition. I believe maybe it is an electrical problem. The cd player also does not work and the hands free link is locked. Can someone knowledgable please tell me what's wrong with my car? I would take to to the dealer I bought it from but it's 3 hours away.

Sorry to hear about your situation. How long ago did you buy it and how many miles have you put on it since you bought it? Did you buy it from an Acura dealer?

I bought it a day ago, I put 200 miles on it and I bought it off of a used lot on dealers row in Philly. So I can't do a whole lot other than fix it myself or wait a great deal of time and take it all the way back to Philly and I need a car.

Difficult to determine what the problem is precisely, but first item I would check is the battery connections and have the battery checked, load tested to make certain the supply is adequate.
A few years ago I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was giving me fits, surging idle, erratic shifts and I found it to be the battery connections, corrosion inside the clamp/post. After cleaning, problem gone.

Process of elimination.

Do you have a carparts store that can go to to download the error codes? Autozone, etc . Is there a acura dealer locally? May need the acura system to see some of the transmission error codes. I sure hope its a battery / elec connection issue, but there are some issues with the auto trans in this vehicle. Post codes here and good luck

Disconect battery for awhile and that may get you restarted

The error codes pulled are P0746 which stated solenoid a is stuck on and p0777 solenoid b stuck off. Any suggestions and would this have anything to do with the no start issues.

Also the tranny fluid is completely burned. Possibly causing all the problems

Did you try disconnecting the battery to hard boot system? That may reset and get you moving

Sounds like fluid and switches may get you back to normal!

That what happen to us and sunddenly we lost total power to the acura tl and did the battery light come one before it went out. I was driving at night so I was in a rush to the gas station and we waited for a tow truck to pick up the car
