what does it do?
The masses here like seafoam and bg44 for cleaning the intake system
The oil should not get any mileage-slippery-thickeners stuff added to it-

vtec operates on oil pressure changes, so you do want to run an engine cleaner thru the oil right before a change now and then.
In my opinion and as proved by members with over 200,000 miles onthe motor

It's supposed to clean sludge and grime from the oil system.

may I suggest you read any of the Seafoam threads here- 1 8oz can in the engine oil before oil change will clean it right up- also used in intake mmanifold vac line, and gas tank- cleans everything

If you suspect sludge- replace the oil filter before treatment- so a fresh one can catch all the bad stuff you will dislodge.
According to their directions on website- you can drive with it in the engine as long as you closely watch the color on the dipstick and change the oil when its bad.
Many ziners run it 5 minutes at idle- others drive 15-30 minutes.
