The filler bolt? What do you mean by deformed? Can you post a photo of it?

yes the filter bolt. now the car is not running. i'm wondering if there's any other way to pour the ATF back to the transmission so that i can at least drive it around.

What did you use the last time to loosen and retighten it with? What are you currently using now to attempt to loosen it again? Pic of the tool would be great too.
All I can say is wow. I am really curious what you used the the last time to allow it to get buggered so bad.

Sounds like you where using acceptable tools. However, I HATE 12-point sockets. I recommend going to Sears to get a Craftsman 17mm 6-point socket 1/2-drive.
With the new 6-pt socket, hammer it onto the filler plug if needed. Try to make the socket fit over the original hex head corners toward the lower half of the head. Don't allow the socket to follow the deformed hex corners on the upper half. Persuade it with the hammer.
If you get it off, tighten to just 15 ft.lbs. until you get a new filler plug (asap). With the new filler plug, tighten it to 33 ft lbs, which is oem recommendation.

go to the dealer and buy a new bolt. then you can either go to sears and get their stripped bolt nut set for $30 to take the old one off or you can go to pep boys or any other car parts store with a shop attached and have one of the techs loosen it for you - give the dude $5 tip if he offers to do it for free which they probably will.
if you go to pep boys or a shop and you know what you're talking about just tell them that you need to borrow the nut grabber for 10 minutes to loosen a bolt in your engine bay. that way you aren't even taking up a tech's time to do something for you.
