Asking for codes?
Asking for codes?
Hey all,
I have a 2007 TL-S, manual. Lately upon starting, I have been asked for the code to the nav system twice, noticed the auto function on power windows did not work.....although it mysteriously "healed" itself five minutes later...and last night at gas station starter did not engage on key turn. after a minute it started fine. Im sure this will strand me in the near future if I don't address it. Im thinking key-switch, or loose connection on ECU?
Any thoughts or experiences are really appreciated!!
thanks

Check battery connections.
I had the same problem at the gas station where my car wouldn't start and it left me stranded there for like half an hour. Luckily it was like 11:30 PM and in a small town, so nobody was there to witness the embarrassment.
It then happened a few more times, where I would be struck after a day of work.
I then changed the battery connector going from the negative terminal to the main body ground. I ordered it from Honda.
I figured it's better to replace the whole connection wire rather than try to clean it.
Haven't had a problem since, and it's been around 3 years now.

^ As said already, battery connections are likely the cause. I had a problem recently where it asked for radio codes and the starter did not engage. My positive terminal was badly corroded so I replaced the terminal with a universal one. No problems since.
