Anyway to make trunk open completely after unlocking?
Anyway to make trunk open completely after unlocking?
Is there a way to reinforce those springs that push the trunk lid up after it is unlocked?
On some cars the trunk opens fully when unlocked, so its easy to load stuff that you are carrying in your hands. With my TL it only pops about 2 inches, so i have to drop everything on the floor, open it and then load the stuff.
Any ideas?

Take a look at the Honda video where a bungee cord is placed through the hindge to "flip" the lid open. Not certain that it can be accomplished on the TL with the trim on the inside of the trunk, but take a look.
Thought about adding the TLS bars, but not certain they would be strong enough to open the lid fully.
One could always change the bar(s) ends to your desired tension.

Trunk spring lift issue
03 TLS Walmart trunk assist spring
i bought this "trunk lift support spring" from Walmart. It came in a package of two. I only used "one" on the passenger side, as it provided sufficient action to lift the trunk lid about 14 inches when hitting the trunk release button. I'm certain that adding the other spring to the driver side would lift the trunk lid completely. Prior to installing this spring, the trunk lid would only unlock the trunk lid, and provide zero lift. The springs were cheap, $9.00 and required no tools to install. Installation accomplished in less than two minutes.
