Have an 06 TL. The driver side bulb is out. Everytime I turn it on, it flickers and doesnt turn on. I've tried changing just the ballast unit and still nothing so thinking its just the igniter. Anybody ever change just the socket? If so, any tips?

 

This same thing just happened to my 04. It is the igniter. I bought mine through oemacuraparts.com and had the dealer install it. They take the front bumper cover off, and then pull out the whole head light assembly to get to it. It was worth it for me to pay them to do it.

 

How much did that cost you?

 

Removing bumper is a 10 minute job there is a DIY video. Easily done

 

I have no problem w removing the bumper. It's just the switching out the socket that I had questions about. Is it just as simple as unplugging it from the ballast unit and plugging in the new one?

I assume you'll have to take out the headlight assembly and do other stuff....
