Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I have both squeaking and clicking in my clutch pedal. It's a problem that you not only hear, but feel as well. I bought my car CPO so it has a 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. I have 92k miles right now so I need to get the car in soon. Would this be covered under the warranty? I had them put GM synchromesh transmission fluid in a few months back... do you think they will try to use this as a loophole to deny warranty work?

strange that I've recently developed the same symptom, but only when it's hot in the car (as in after work when it's been sitting in the sun all day). i'm going to try and spray some lube and see if that helps. my fear is that it's the master cylinder. like you, I'm cpo with the extra service plan, so i'm not worried they won't cover it. it's just an extra hassle.

as for the GM fluid, there's no reasonable causal connection between transmission fluid and clutch pedal.

I hope you're right.

By the way - When my car is hot, the problem gets much more noticeable. I tried spraying lube, but it is a very temporary fix. I already owned a TSX that did the same thing, and the master cylinder did have to be replaced.

I would be persistent about getting it covered under warranty or at least some consideration on the cost. It is a known problem with many cars. Interesting that it happened after so many miles though. Mine happened in the first year I think. I also found the problem to be more prevalent when warmer (but it was during a cooler spring season I think).

I had that too. They first replaced my clutch pedal assembly...basically the whole pedal. That didn't fix it. Then they replaced the clutch master cylinder and the problem went away! I've put at least 5000 miles on since then and it still feels great with no clicking. Oh yeah, they covered both under my extended warranty. Replace master cylinder = problem gone!
