Any hints on separating stuck O2 connectors?
Any hints on separating stuck O2 connectors?
Had my primary bank 2 O2 sensor go bad, zero issues removing the O2 itself even though it is the original with 214,700 miles on it. The connector on the other hand, I messed around with that damn thing for about 40 minutes before I got it undone. The bank 1 primary is occasionally giving me a 2195 code (yes, I know there is a TSB but it is also the original O2 as well) so might as well change that too and get the PCM reflash after if needed. Anyway, that connector is just as stuck and since it is between the engine and firewall it is harder to get to. So if anyone has a method to get the connectors apart I'd love to hear it.
the clip/harnesses are pretty hard to understand! lol
i believe you have to use a screw driver to push one clip in while simultaneously pulling
oh, theres one that you have to remove FIRST before you can remove the 2nd
shit, its hard explaining it lol

Would you please clarify what part of the sensor is "stuck?" Is the metal portion seized in the engine, so the sensor won't turn? Or are you just having trouble figuring out how to remove it?
I made a DIY in the below thread for the O2 sensor between the engine and firewall - the key is you need to push the sensor AND the plastic clip towards the engine, and then the sensor will slide off towards the front passenger tire. At that point, you can unclip the wires easily. Good luck!

lube it and use a flat head to pry it off if it is just the plastic connector. If it is metal to metal. then drive it hard or heat up the cat. Then use lube again and it should pop out.
