Another tranny post

Hey I am new to the forum and the TL scene. I've always wanted one and now I finally got one but I just might be regretting it. I went on and bought an auto 04 TL with 115,xxx miles on it. Checked the vin it's clean tittle and supposedly I am second owner. I went on sold my 04 rsx and bought this one now. But once I bought it about a day or two after I noticed the car takes off fine from first but when second goes in it feels like it struggles to go in and makes a feeling sorta like bad mounts then when it goes into third I feel the car jerk a little as if the clutch would be slipping I guess you can call it? And also when I put it into tiptronic it doesn't switch from D to M the little green light stays next to the D and the cluster does not display any gear number. I was a car meet and spoke with two other guys who one owns a TL and the other owns a tsx and told me it could be a fuse? The harness ? Or ones of the speed sensors? What do you guys think? sorry for the long post and thanks in advance

isnt a slipping clutch supposed to have less jerk than a good clutch?

the only real maintenance things you can do on the transmission are the pressure switch sensors and changing the fluid. both of which you should definitely try. If neither help....then time for a rebuild

Maybe it's this? Mine switches over fine so I have no first hand experience.

Try changing your ATF for starters and see if it gets any better also call your local cars dealer and ask them to run a vin stat and see if three is a torque converter update for the ecu but these auto trans have a issue with them called torque converter shutter meaning the ecu tells the lock up clutch to go into full lock up mode when it's supposed to be in partial lock up mode causing a shutter or vibration...mine does it every once in a while when it's cold outside

check for codes. replace switches and fluid just as a maintenance thing and see what happens. you can ask acura but its 115K and 10 years old. not likely

If it's not switching over to the manual indicator on the dash when you use the sport shift, the problem could be in the shifter itself. Does sports mode work and only the lights on the dash don't work?

As for the other problems, it sounds like you need new fluid (A DexIII fluid) and pressure switches.
