Another 07 TL-S Dead Battery
I've had my 07 TL-S Automatic for a little over 6 months, 7000 miles, and this morning I got the click, click, click.... when I tried to start it this morning. Fortunately I have another vehicle to drive, so I left her dead and went to work.
Interesting thing is when I got home this afternoon I looked and all battery connections were tight, the little view hole in the battery was still green. Tried to start the car and it slugishly did start.
I've pretty much have left the headlight switch in 'auto' since I got the car and the most time it has sat without driving has been about three weeks, it started fine after that period. Lately I have been driving it everyday for about a month.
For those 07 TLs that have had the same problem, what has the dealer been saying? This has been happening too much (according to this forum) for Acura not to notice.

leaving it off for 3 weeks is not recommended as the stock batteries will be dead because the electronics in the car, HFL, Memory seats, radio and a few others draw about 20 milliamps when the car is off.
On the subject you posted, you might have a bad battery or a bad HFL unit. Tell the acura delaership to check the battery and to check for a prasitic draw on the battery 15 minutes after turning it off. BE SURE TO MENTION 15 minutes as it is very important as the HFL unit goes into hibernation after 10-15 minutes.

Well it could be something left on or running. Just because the eye on the battery is green doesnt always mean that it is good, because that only shows one cell of the battery. Try jumping the car once it is running the vehicle may recharge the battery it depends on how bad the battery actuall is. I would take it to the dealer they will run a battery test with the ed-18 battery tester, if it tests bad they should replace it under warranty anyways.

This doesn't sound like your problem but my 07 TL-S battery went dead one day after I picked it up. My kids were checking out the car and left the map lights on. The map lights do not turn off automatically after a period of time and I went to drive it two days later and it was completely dead. I've complained to Acura about this feature with the map lights since a $35K car should have map lights that turn off automatically.
The interior lights go off automatically, but if you actually click the map lights on they stay on when all the other lights go off.

Ummm I have an 05 and from my knowledge the factory where these cars are built have or had a bad batch of batteries at one point earlier this year......they replaced my battery at my dealership 2 times so far.....i got sick of it dying and went with a kinetic power battery/cap thing....insane power for the system and more than enough for the cars electrical.

Is this common? I was just about to drive off the lot today after signing all the papers and when they pulled up the car to the front I couldn't start it. I was like wtf the sales guy tried and the car just went click click click. They jumped the brand new 07 and swapped out the battery. Kind of killed the new happy car feeling.

I had about 1200 miles on my tl-s when i had the same problem. towed it to the dealer and the battery was replaced. if i remember right the battery had a bad cell. if it compelety fails like mine you won't even be able to jump start it.

wow i didnt think it was like that... maybe its the DRL resistor on the electric system... who knows im sure they'll have it investigated once the dealers start bitching that they cant sell the cars becuz of faulty electric system

With the car shut off there should be minimal drain on the electrical system. The headlight system, either the DRL or Auto Headlights, should be tie to accessory power, thus off when the accessory is off.
Hopefully it is only a batch of bad batteries and not an electrical flaw, either malfunctioning system or worse a design flaw.

I'm thinking it has to do with the OEM battery. Mine went stone dead when I didn't drive it for several days a couple of weeks after I bought it. I was working on my daughter's house, so I was driving a Suburban to haul lumber, etc.
Nothing was left on, it just went stone dead. The dealer charged the battery and tried to convince me it was because I parked it with the headlights in auto mode. I made them do a complete battery test, and when it barely passed they finally agreed to replace it as a customer satisfaction replacement.
It's worked fine ever since, even though I've parked it for longer periods a few times. The new battery is slightly different than the original, but hey, it works great.
One possible factor is how long the car sat on the lot. I've noticed that a lot of the newer batteries don't bounce back well if they are ever run completely flat. They'll take a charge, but never have the same capacity again. So it doesn't take much to run them down the next time.

Dealer replaced my dead battery. One interesting note, the old battery had a green-eye view hole and the new battery doesn't. Also the service advisor told me that Acura covers the battery (full replacement) under the regular 4 yr warrenty.
I also had a few other warrenty items to be work so I got a loner car ('07 TL w/ Navi, had 4300 miles on it). It had the same rattle in the rear deck as my TL-S.
