Annoying Electrical Problem

My 2005 TL has been acting strange for a while now.

The power windows only work occasionally. If they are not working, I can manually lock and unlock the car with the door key, and they start working again.

Also, my drivers speaker cuts in and out (like a loose wire somewhere). I think when the speaker comes back, on the windows also start to work.

My keyless entry also stopped working. Sometimes it will work, with the trunk button working most often.

From what I read in the forums, I am thinking it has something to do with the Multiplex unit... Not sure though. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Have you changed the battery in the key fob first to rule that out?

Secondly your speaker would have nothing to do with what's happening at the door aside from the Molex plug coming loose. Take the panel off and and remove the speaker.... the harness coming into the door maybe loose and not making a good connection. Stick your hand into the door thru the speaker opening and grab the harness and push it back into each other. If that isn't the problem check all your connections in the door try putting some dielectric grease on the pins then reconnect them.

I did what you recommended and it fixed the problem! When I opened the door panel all the connections seemed solid, so I was skeptical this was the problem but it worked. Thanks!
