Am i misfiring?

Recently it appears that my car may be misfiring. Typically it happens between 5000-7000 RPMs in vtec under wide open throttle and in first gear. It will run strong then do a spurt of 3 cutouts (almost like its bouncing off the rev limiter) then continue normal and sometimes jolt one more time. Does this sound like misfiring to you all and if it is what it typically the problem/fix?

Car is a 2007 TL Type-S 157,000 miles automatic.

I'm not very good with diagnosis but wouldn't a misfire happen even at idle? Transmission slipping? Low oil? Clogged cat?

This is my attempt at trying to help I'll let others chime in. Can you post a video?

a misfire will show itself at low RPMs and will be flawless in the higher RPMs

when I damaged multiple valves that came in contact with my pistons, I had a noticible misfire at idle.

YUP! This happens in my 03 Acura EL, its burns oil so when the oil is low the engine light will come on and the car wont go past 4k rpms. Top it up with oil and then it goes back to normal.
