Exclamation airbag light on!!!

is this an issue? It is the light to the left of your seatbelt light. IT stays on all the time now. I looked it up in the book and it was pretty vague. Should i get it checked out or just keep on trucking?

all SRS is cover under a life time warranty. as long as it has not be wrecked. the srs unit is not cover passed 6yrs 60k. every thing else is under normal conditions.

As another master tech, I like your posts because from time to time I learn new stuff. That said, I was unaware of this. We have always covered SRS items only within the bumper to bumper 4/50. As we see about one 3G a month that has a bad front impact sensor or side impact sensor, etc. And if they are past the above warranty, they pay for the repair. That said, is there somewhere in writing that you have seen this, so I can show my boss? And like you said, if there are signs of accident damage, then warranty isn't an option. The only thing we cover under lifetime warranty is seatbelts, related to defects (tearing/ripped/etc). Thanks in advance for your input

it should be in the onwers manuall. also check with you dpsm. different states have different warrenties. i was talking more seat belt and air bags and opds unit. impacts sensor are a little different. i don't think i have replaced one that wasent in a wreck.

I'm pretty sure the whole system is disabled. So if you don't want it to work in an accident then ya, don't worry.

There is a way to reset it but if there is a real problem, then it will come back.

I had this problem recently (airbag light on constantly) on my 04TL with ~59K miles so I took it to my dealer. It was a switch in the driver's seat belt latch. They fixed it free of charge.

Mine has stayed on 3 times in the last few weeks. Every time, I turn off the car and turn it back on and it stays off. Weird. Gonna have to get it checked out.

I believe the warranty for seat belt is lifetime for Acura/Honda vehicles.
My 2003 RSX had driver side seat belt buckle sensor problem which was fixed under warranty at 150k miles. Service advisor confirmed seat belts are lifetime.

I don't think anything else is covered (sensor, etc) outside 4yrs/50k bumper to bumper warranty.
