Air-Fuel Ratio Sensor
What's up all,
Recently my check engine light came on in my 07 so I took it to a buddy of mine who connected it to a reader. After some poking figured out that P2272 and P0157 basically meant a dead air-fuel ratio sensor.
So I guess I have a 2 part question.
1. Should I reset the errors and see if the check engine light comes back on or:
2. Get something like THIS and install it right away? (btw, is that the right part?)
If the latter is the better option, is there a sticky/guide laying around to do this?
Thanks a ton

P02272-Front Secondary Heated Oxygen Sensor (Secondary HO2S Bank 2 Sensor 2) Circuit Signal Stuck Lean
P0157 Above But Circuit Low Voltage
There are a multitude of tests described in the FSM, poor wiring, connections, sensor, ecu, but I'd first clear the codes and see if they return.
If it is the sensor, the Denso 2345010 is for the upstream sensor replacement, you need front downstream Denso 2344355 (A/T), or any other manufacturer:
bank 2, sensor 2
front sensor 2
front downstream

Consequently, I removed my gascap and rescrewed it on. I read that check engine will reset after 3 days if it's the gascap. Well today was the third day and after starting the car this morning there was no more check engine light.
I suppose the thing to do at this point would be to just wait it out and see if the problem re-occurs

Well it came back last week, so I'm not really sure what to do at this point. I could grab the Denso 2344355 but I don't know how to install.
Suggestions anyone?

The gas cap has nothing to do with AFR and 02 sensors.
Luckily it's the secondary sensor so it has little to no influence on the actual AFR depending on who you ask. If it's a circuit problem which it looks like it is, I would check all wiring associated with the sensor before replacing it. On the bright side, that's the cheaper of the two sensors on that side.
If you can't find any problem with the wiring and you don't want to just throw another part at it, you can swap the secondary sensor from the other bank and see if the problem stays on that bank or if it follows the sensor to the other bank.

Is the procedure the same for the front downstream (bank 2 sensor 2) as in my case? Obviously it's a different sensor in the above walkthrough (rear upstream) but the procedure itself would be the same - right?
Thanks for being helpful guys, as you can plainly see I don't know anything about this sort of thing.
