Aftermarket Alternator from Acura TL 2001
I paid good money for a 240a Alternator for my 2001 Acura TL. I was wondering what kind of modifications I would have to do to make it compatible with 2004-2008 TL. The connector looks the same, but the mounting holes are in different locations. I am willing to make a bracket out of sheet metal.

Don't be a cheap ass and go buy the right alternator.

I see only downsides and no upsides whatsoever to your idea. Chief downside being the one where your "bracket out of sheet metal" fails and you have an alternator flailed around by the accessory belt under the hood. Let that paint a mental picture in your head for a bit and the comparative price for a proper alternator won't look very high anymore.
As other's said, get the proper alternator for the car.
