I'm an active DIYer and my floor jack (Craftsman) just crapped out. Can any of you recommend a good replacement? I was going to just go to Sears again, but I heard some bad things about their current lineup. My TL's coming up for its 60K service and I'll need to jack it up! My wife's car is a Lexus RX, so I need one that goes up pretty high as well.

All opinions appreciated.

Do a search for "floor jack" or "jack". There are a couple of good threads on this subject. Also check the 3G Garage.

Whoa! If it's a Craftsman, won't Sears just replace it?

Great thought, but I don't think they consider it a hand tool. I'd have them replace my tired Craftsman compressor while I'm at it. After searching the threads, I think I've landed on the Arcan SL35 that they sell at Costco. It seems to meet all my needs and is reasonably priced. I'd love to get a Snap-on, but they're just too pricey for us weekend warriors. Thanks to everyone for your thoughts.
