Acura TL is overheating!!

I have a 2005 acura tl and it's been overheating. I've recently replaced my radiator thinking it was that. It's been a week that it wasn't heating up but now it starting reaching H again. My mechanic wants to take out the thermostat since he says that it's not really needed in Florida. Is this true?? What could be causing it to overheat? also, ive noticed that whenever i turn on the a/c it starts to overheat very fast.

Lost all credibility at "take out thermostat".

Might as well take off the hood too to lower temps..

Are you loosing coolant? thermostat is most def needed no matter what car you have. If the thermostat is stuck in the closed position it could explain why your car is overheating

many of number of things can make a car over heat.

clogged radiator will over heat a car.
no coolant will over heat a car.
(probably has to be said - but if radiator is leaking, you'll have no coolant resulting in a overheated car. )

if head gasket is bad and coolant goes away, then yep you guessed it, will over heat your car.

if water pump fails and coolant leaks, then yup another over heated car......

if thermostat fails = overheated car.

Did you bleed the system properly after replacing the radiator?

Also, please smack your "mechanic".

My sisters TL overheated on the freeway. She got it fixed and told me that it was the "Heater Core Valve".
