Acura TL 2004 Shock/Strut
I recently replaced the shocks on my Acura TL 2004 shock/strut assembly. I had to use spring compressors. I'm curious about the top nut and whether I was supposed to tighten it after I installed it on the car. I didn't screw it all the way down the threads and now I am getting a noise from my top driver side.
I also have to make a confession. I simply used the old rubber and metal washers and the old nut. That was all that came with the kit in addition to the shock, but I didn't use it. The mounting plates and old spring were reused, but they also didn't come with the kit. It was a KYB Excel-G shock absorber. TIA.

You probably didn't tighten the top nut all the way.
