Hey guys I know a124 is timing belt service. I had already gotten it done at 98k. I replaced everything even the tensioners. The only thing I didn't was valve adjustments. I just hit 110k and the now I am getting the service soon message for a124. Why is this and how can i get rid of it?

 

you must have done the service before the message popped up. the car computer doesnt know that so now its telling you to do it. just reset it and you'll be fine. make sure to replace your spark plugs too

 

^^what paperboy said. do your A12 (oil change, tire rotation and your filter changes) ignore the 4 since you already did it (unless you have already done the A12 part recently). change your spark plugs if you haven't already done them and if the engine is a little rough then go for the valve adjustment.

then just reset the MID (why didnt' you just follow the MID for the TB anyway?). unless you're in the low mileage club...no reason to do it sooner unless you're getting some phenomenol deal on the TB job. just wondering.

Well I bought the car at 84k. Did spark plugs at 90k and timing belt service at 98k. I have an 04 TL MT and from what I heard on here, The timing belt service should be done at 105k or 7 years. Hence my reason for doing it.

 

ah...gotcha. just do the A12 and you'll be fine. just know when you did the other services and you'll be fine. reset the MID after the oil change assuming you follow the MID for the oil changes.

i'm due for my TB this yr and i only have 564XX on mine...i have a while before my car even throws the 4 (by that time it'll be due solely by time). lol.

 

I usually do my oil changes when it reaches 0% because I use synthetic every single time.

Wow lol. I wish I didn't have to drive as much and my car could be like that
