Hey guys. My 08 TL does a weird thing in 4th gear. I notice it more with slapstick than regular auto. While in 4th gear, right before 3500 rpm, I lose engine power for a few seconds before it kicks back in. Anyone know what this could be? Thanks in advance.

 

What speed, do the rpms drop? Also 4th gear and power shouldn't be used in the same sentence.

 

I havent paid too much attention as far as speed goes. Probably around 60-70 mph. You know what I mean about the power thing. :P

Acura of Ocean is trying to tell me that they cant duplicate the problem, when I have EVERY SINGLE TIME i've tried, and even when I'm not trying to. I feel there may be an issue with my tranny but they dont want to shell the dough to fix or replace it. Any suggestions?

These are the same ppl saying there is no tapping sound coming from the rear of the car, when it it CLEAR AS DAY.... Help, what should I do??

 

Does your RPM drop though? Sounds like it could be a throttle input issue. Do you feel any cut in power in 1/2/3 above 3500 RPM?

If it is transmission related, it might not be a bad idea to change out the 3rd & 4th gear pressure switches.

 

IT doesnt do it in any other gear, as far as I've noticed. The rpm needle actually drops right before 3500 rpm in 4th gear. IT goes from about 3200 to 3000 rpm before the power kicks back in. Pressure switch? Could u explain further please?
