I know I know... there are already several posts about it... I dont want to know how to do it. I want to know what fluid to use. I keep seeing different fluids listed.
I have a 2006 TL base model with 97k miles and I live in Texas where it gets pretty hot in summer time. I drive the car normal, maybe a little spirited now and then. Is the Honda fluid the best or maybe a good synthetic. My freind said he will give me 2 free cases of Royal Purple synthetic ATF, and was wondering if I can use it.
PS... when I do the 3rd and 4th shift solenoid replacement, will i lose any fluid?

 

Use the free fluid. or use Honda DW-1, or Redline D4.

 

Several posts? There are a hundred of these threads. This one is no different than the rest. You will get peoples opinions, all recommending a different fluid based on opinion, not facts. Just go with the Honda fluid if you can't make up your mind.

The answer to the switches has been answered at least a hundred times as well.

 

Install a cooler and a filter and switches and any fluid you want.
