3rd Gen: Windshield issues

Hi guys,

My 07s windshield is bugging the hell out of me. I tried Windex and simoniz windshield cleaner and it still hasn't cleared these spots on my windshield.

With the winter fast approaching, this is a real pain from a visibility perspective..with the glare of the sun these spots make it even harder to see.

Can anyone make any suggestions beyond installing a new windshield which is what the dealer wants me to do....

that looks like sandblasting/pitting from road debris but I could be wrong. If they are waterspots you can try to remove them with vinegar and/or a clay bar. But if the glass is damaged you'll either need to polish out the damage or get a new windshield. You can get them installed for under $300 now.

Yeah I think it's a mix of water spots and debris... previous owner was on the highway a lot.

I'm in Canada so am getting totally ripped of by the dealer on a new windshield...they want approx. 570 and that's without using new rubber

If it's truly spots then scrub it with 00 steel wool on a dry glass. That will polish and remove minor debris on the glass.

Won't steel wool kill the screen?
