3G TL Launching with VSA, violent shaking
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a local 2004 TL which had the clutch changed a few months ago by the previous owner (at the acura dealership, i have the receipts). The problem is, lately, when I launch from a stop with VSA turned OFF, instead of a burnout, I get a weird violent shaking of the front of the car. At first I though its just because the road was uneven, but it happened a few times more since then, and so I've been afraid of trying it. The new clutch seems OK, no signs of slipping, its still jerks a bit from 1st to 2nd, I'm still getting used to it.
Also, I don't know if this is related (?), but during idling, I feel a slight shaking of the car, like the engine is irregular or something. Its nothing too crazy, and goes away as soon as I accelerate past 1000rpm.
What do you guys think? Any help would be appreciated. I am going to also take it in to the acura dealer for an oil change soon, and I'm going to mention all of this to them, but if i can get any kind of feedback from the experts here, it would really help a lot!
Thanks.
Vlad

Yeah, I don't think I "dump" the clutch, but I see your point. I have to let it engage fully before I floor (i guess I already know this, i should just be more careful).
My tires are really crappy, in fact I'm getting them replaced next week (getting Michelin pilot sports). I was playing around since I don't care about the tires much, I figured a little spinning on the pavement wont be so bad.
