2008 "redesigned" glove box rattle?

Okay, so the 2004-06 glove box rattle is well-documented, with fixes ranging from "spray lubricant on the hinge and control arm" to "tear out the glove box and replace it." Some of these fizes work, some don't.

So what does Acura do? They "redesign" the glove box for the 2007 and 2008 model years (interior all one part, with stoppers molded into the outer lining). Problem is, the control arm is still there, on the right, rattling away. And driving me crazy (as an Acura veteran, I knew I was in for rattles).

Anyone have any experience muting the glove box rattle on an 08? You can't simply pull the box out as you could on the older models, so the trick is getting all the moving parts flush and getting proper lubrication where it is needed. Any ideas?

I think the glove box is the only part on my car that doesn't rattle.

Does it rattle when the glove box is empty as well?

This is really driving me nuts. Car has fewer than 1000 miles on it and the glove box just won't shut up. If I close it on a washcloth (washcloth between the glove box door edge and the dash), the rattle is muted, but never really goes away. No washcloth: RATTLES! Clearly there is just way too much "play" in the door, and the slightest road imperfection sends it rattling. Sounds like the whole door is gonna fall off.

Very disappointed in Acura's "redesign." It has done nothing but change the nature of the rattle.

Mine was fixed with some felt tape around that metal thing that holds the glovebox closed...

I had rattle too and found it was a support that anchors the latch to the car. It was loose and rattling. Took box apart. Tighten it down and all is good.

I took the whole glovebox and casing out on my 2007 TL so I could replace the cabin airfilter. While I was at it, I taped down wiring that was flapping in the breeze and now the rattles are gone. The glovebox is janky for sure.

I believe I have the same thing and i want to attempt the fix, but freezing temp's in chicago are pushing my project on hold while I get more and more frustrated each day driving my snake trap.

My rattle it seems like it is glove box at first but it is actually something behind it, like you said - some wires tapping on a metal piece or something becasause it does not matter is my glove box is open or not (even when i firmly hold it) it rattles most of the time. So sad in acura quality
