2007 TL-S 5AT RPM Bouncing at idle, rev limiter at 3k
Hi all,
Just a few days ago after starting up my car, both the engine light and VSA light turned on. The RPM would fluctuate between 500-1100 on idle. When the car is on gear, it would still fluctuate a little bit, between 600-700 rpm. However, I noticed that the car won't let me go past 3000 rpm in any gear. Upon reaching 3000 rpm, the fuel cutoff system kicks in, giving the same feeling as if I was hitting the rev limiter. I took it to a car shop, and they identified 2 codes, P0108 and P2138.
The mechanic said that it's possibly the car's computer, and it would take 3-10 hours to diagnose and check for loose wiring. I told him that I'd do more research before taking it back in, because it will potentially be very expensive. Any help or insights regarding this situation would be great!

I just had the APP sensor replaced few weeks ago. Before the replacement, the car would sometime go into limp mode. The replacement cured that, but now the car is giving completely different symptoms.

Even though your APP was replace a few weeks ago; doesnt mean it cant be defective. Have it re-check.
