2006 TL Memory seat issue

I just bought a 2006 TL and I am having problems with the seat memory. When I unlock the car and open the door the seat moves forward and mirrors adjust. The green light on the 1 is lit. When I move the seat and mirrors to my liking, I hold down the memo button but no beep and I cannot seem to reset the memory for driver 1. The seats move and mirrors move. But I cannot reset the memory. Any ideas?

I am able to bypass the problem for now by unpairing the remote FOB. Now at least the seat dosen't go forward all the way when I open the door. But I cannot change the setting on the memory1 or memory2. The MEM button seems to not be working.

Press the memo button once then press the Memory 1 spot next to it and it should save the settings like that. No need to hold down the memo button.

When I press Memo then press the memory1 the seat moves to where the previous settings were. When I press Memo the 2 buttons do not blink, so I cannot save new settings.

Is the ignition on in the II (Accessory) position and the transmission in "Park" or Neutral/out of gear?

I tried again today to reset the memory. After holding the mem button for a while I finally got it to beep and light up the 1 and 2 buttons. I was able to move seat and mirrors to my liking and was able to reset the memory. I then paired the remote again and now all is well. I think I have a flaky mem button but all is ok now. Thanks for all the help!!!

Yeah I think you got iffy memo button. I can reprogram mines when I'm driving/sitting by just pressing the memo button once then hitting the 1 or 2. Glad you got it working though!
