2006 M/T - scan tool communication error
2006 M/T - scan tool communication error
I just picked up a 2006 manual trans 3g TL to replace my almost identical 2004. (Timing belt tensioner on the 2004 failed, 50k miles on tensioner).
When trying to connect to the 2006 with a Solus Pro scan tool by selecting the specific, year, make model, I get a communication error.
If I connect using the generic function on the Solus, not selecting a specific vehicle, the Solus will connect and allow me to scan for codes and see some live data.
I went through the diagnostic procedure in the service manual to check the Datalink voltages and grounds. They all checked out to step eleven in the manual. Then it says plug into (or jumper out) service connector (two pin connector that appears to be located on right side of trans tunnel under the dash? I haven't tried that yet.
Has anyone experienced this or know the fix?
