2005 TL vibration

Hello, I am new to the site but I did a large amount of searching and nothing provided an answer to what I have going on. I have a constant vibration occurring that I can feel in both the seat and steering wheel. It increases and decreases in intensity with speed. I have been dealing with this for a while now and can't seem to figure it out. I have newish tires on the car and I got an alignment and balance when that happend, about 6 months ago. Recently I got the tires balanced again but it is still vibrating. Sometimes it isn't as bad and at slower speeds, less than 40, I don't notice it at all.

I have been thinking it could be the axles. Any input at all is appreciated.

Its a 2005 TL M/T with 150000 miles

Do you run aftermarket wheels? If so, do you have hub centric rings installed?

I have stock wheels. Everything is stock.

Is it possible to get bad tires? or for a wheel to be bent without me knowing?

I recently had a 07 tls with a vibration in the floor and seats at about 75mph .
replaced both axles and intermediate shaft , and new axle seals (since i was there ). but after that the vibration went away .
inner joints on the axles will cause a vibration . also i found some play in the intermediate shaft bearing .

Axle vibration is usually, inner cv joints, noticed on acceleration.

OP, after balancing have the attendant turn the wheel 180 degrees and try again
to see how close or far off the balance might be.

Better yest, find a Hunter road force machine and give it a try. Some wheels
have center holes that are compromised and need to be balanced with
an adapter that is bolted to the wheel through the lug holes.

Toatally agree with tyler.smith, I had a vibration on my Type S and replaced wheel bearings had it balanced and aligned every 6 months and still had a vibration. I finally demanded they do a Hunter Road Forcewhich is an ordeal to get Firestone to do it, they say it takes too long. When they finally did it it was smooth other than the cupping on my 2 year old Conti DWS tires because they weren't properly balanced. So go to a Firestone and tell them you want it. It is how the factory does it when new.
Good Luck!
