2005 driver's window is squeaky

I noticed my window when up is making a rubbing noise against the rubber when driving 25-30 mph. If you lower the window just a 1/4 inch the squeaking/rubbing goes away. I took it to the dealer and they said it could be the side mirror is loose and the noise is travelling up the window. I am not sure about that and don't want them to remove the mirror to put a new seal, if that isn't the issue.

Has anyone else had this issue. It is like the glass is squeaking agains the seal.

I suppose it's *possible*, but only because I remember reading something in the 3G garage about issues with the mirrors not being tight. However, I personally would be a little suspect of their diagnosis (not to say it isn't right, would just look into it more).

Do you have another dealer near you that you could take it to? What about calling another dealer and describing the issue to them? You could always tell them that you moved to the area a couple of months ago, which would be why you don't show up in their computer as having bought the car from them.

did anyone see the feb 2008 tech service bulletin

2 or 3 years later they are finally acknowledging my problem. I cannot believe it. If you see my issue, which they never fixed, it exactly matches the problem in the service bulletin; down to the issue going away when the window is lowered a little bit..

Sometimes it feels like a wasted of time to compain until there is a tsb.. but its like what came first the chicken or the egg...

Be careful with this. Make sure your dealer is competent. I had this issue "fixed" and received a car with more wind noise than my 1995 Prelude. Ironically, I got into an accident and had the right door replaced, so now half my car is silent and half is like a wind storm.
