2005 Acura TL won't start, new battery and new battery fuse

Hey guys, I just picked up a 2005 Acura TL and drove is home a few days ago. I tried starting it the other day and nothing would turn on, no lights, no dash lights, nothing. I had my battery charged and I tried to start it again and again nothing. Then I was told to check the battery fuse and I noticed that I had blown the fuse. It is possible that I crossed the terminals while trying to jump the car. Anyhow, I replaced the battery fuse with a 2006 Acura TL battery fuse (The parts guy said it was okay to do that) and tried starting it. All the dash lights and everything came on, but the car wouldn't start. It sounds like its either out of gas or i'm using a valet key, it cranks and everything but doesn't start. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone had any insight on this. I first thought that maybe since the battery fuse had to be replaced that maybe I needed to reprogram my keys or something but i'm not sure. Pleas help, any advice is appreciated.

Thank you
CY

If it cranks then the starter would not be suspect. If you crossed something when you jumped it. That could of done damage. That's probably why fuse blew. That's been replaced now it cranks but not start. Could be immob. System. Anti theft system. Maybe someone that knows more will chime in.

I think valet Keys just prohibit people from entering the glove box. I don't think they keep the car from starting. But look at the instrumentation cluster and see if you see a Green Key light that is on. I think that is the immobilizer. At least I think it is a green icon but I'm not for sure . it's been too long. If the immobilizer light is on then you need to get another key. I think. Or reprogram the one you have. I have never run into a problem with zmobilizer so I'm not 100% sure how it works but I know it could give you trouble starting your car I think

@TLFam23 When you say "same issue", you mean you blew your battery fuse, etc., etc., just like @toshoku? Can you be very specific about what it sounds like when you try to start? For example, does everything seem/sound normal when you hold the key in the "start" position, the car just cranks, and cranks, and cranks, but just won't start?

Have you checked the battery cables? At this age, the + cable may be rusted inside where you can't see and unable to carry enough juice. I had similar issues a few years ago and that's what it turned out to be.

My 04 TL has had the "slow drain" problem for years! On the third battery in 3 years. This is a very common problem with these cars, Many threads, but have not fixed or diagnosed mine. Cheers
