2004 Acura TL will not start
Hey guys, I searched around and I found that it could be the starter.
The thing is when I try to start the car, I don't hear any click of the solenoid engaging from the starter.
My car is sitting dead at a parking lot right now. Before I have it towed to garage, would it be possible that it could be the key is running out of battery? it does work unlocking the car though. But was wondering if it's low on battery the car will refuse to start because of that security feature.
I also tried jumping start the car and no luck.

Also, is there anything I can do to start the car once at least to drive it back to my house? Is the starter visible that I can take a wrench and hammer it or something as someone tries to start the car?

if you dont hear anything then im hard pressed to think its the starter, have you tried giving the battery a boost? (its free to do long as you have cables and another car so thats where id start)

when my starter died I didn't hear a click also.
I beat on it with a copper pipe and started right up......for the last time.
problem was the starter.

Alright, thanks guys. I think I saw the starter. Just underneath the battery, cylindrical shape. I'm hoping that's the right end I'm hitting to get it to start.
Do I tap it or do I actually hammer it?

On older cars its audible in the cabin but on our cars it might not be so just grab a buddy and have him beat the starter (dont be shy, its already no good) and eventually it'll turn on. If and when it does turn on then you just diagnosed it and can take it straight to a shop to get the starter installed.

To add to that, have the key in the start position while someone is tapping on it.

Thanks to all who responded! I did hammer it
Hard to get a hammer in there so I used small adjustable wrench and just kept hammering on it.
When I got home, I tried to start it again. The first crank, I can hear the click when my hood is up, it starts the second try though. I hate cars...(I'm not calling you "I hate cars". lol)

lol.
replacing the starter isn't hard at all.
It's removing that battery tray that's a real pain in the ass.
